I finally bought one of my dream basses

I wasn’t really in the market for a new bass, but when I saw this up for sale, I felt I had to seize the opportunity.

 

It’s a masterbuilt Warwick streamer stage II in a beautiful red finish. Interested to know if anyone owns or has previously owned a stage II. This is costing me a little over £3000, which is a lot but considering ordering one of these from Warwick is the pointy end of £8000, I figured it was a decent deal. This bass has never actually been played, so I’m getting a brand new instrument.

I used to own a West German made Streamer and it was an incredible bass. I’m sure this one will be, as well.

Stunner! I almost bought one here years ago but I was let down by the seller, decided to sell it to somebody else instead. I’ve owned a number of Stage 1s, LX’s Jazzmans which have all been great and a few Thumbs too. But never one of these and the prices now make them well out of reach for me.

I had the very first streamer double buck in the UK many years ago. Warwick cocked up and sent the wrong bass when I ordered a corvette double buck. I also owned a black stage I for a little while. So I know this is going to be good. I’ll make sure I get some clips when it arrives!

Totally agree. The list price from Warwick is utterly bonkers, so it makes it feel like a bargain. Never had the pleasure of handling a masterbuilt Warwick, so I’m pretty excited about this one.

Really lovely bass, congratulations! I've not played a Masterbuilt instrument but the Teambuilt ones are good so I suspect this must be amazing. It's a beauty too; I hope you get a lot of joy and use out of it.

Not that I'd be complaining in your shoes, but I'd personally love it if the NT was visible from the front like my Cort A5 Ultra Ash or my former Alembics.

That's gonna deserve 'listing' on your house insurance cover or similar... Or needs covering stand alone....?

Yup, pretty sure it will need to be mentioned in my insurance. I’ve got quite a collection of expensive instruments now, those premiums are climbing!
