LowB_FTW
Evenin' all, I need to change the strings on my Washburn AB-35, and I'm unsure which to select. My usual string of choice is the Rotosound 77 flats, 45-130 gauge. I've never changed the strings on this bass from the ones that came with it, and I've no idea what they are but they are certainly a lighter gauge string than the Rotosound ones. Now obviously I don't wanna rip the bridge off the bass by using strings with too high a tension 😂 Will the Rotosound strings damage the bass? If so, what's a good flatwound string of the same gauge that I could use? Mark
BassBod
I’d suggest black plastic tapewounds as a good alternative for acoustics. GHS, Galli and a few others sell them. Check the scale length for fit on your bass. Thomastik flats are great but the B string is huge, and might not be a good idea on an acoustic style bridge. miles'tone
D'addario 5 string black tapes are great and low tension. Perfect for an ABG I would think. They last forever too.
