MipoKoco
Hi, I’d like to connect my bass guitar to my computer via an interface, but I’m not sure what studio monitors I should buy to ensure I can hear the low frequencies. I’d like to experiment a bit with VST plugins and recording my guitar. Maybe it’s not worth thinking about monitors and it would be better to buy a good combo amp with an XLR output, but I’m not sure how to record in a way that I can hear both the backing track and my guitar. Thanks in advance for your help!
Jakester
You might be better off using a decent set of studio headphones, rather than studio monitors? That way you get decent sound reproduction at a lower cost than having to shell out for quality studio monitors and a subwoofer. That said, I bought some low/mid-range (i.e. cheap) full range active studio monitors and I can hear the bass just fine through them without any need for a sub etc. Edited October 31 by Jakester
