Calm down, it's the solid state versions, no valves here I'm afraid.

 

 

 

Early/mid 80's (not sure of the exact year, they were in production from 1983-1988 and the 'R' at the end of the serial number would suggest 1983 but can't be sure) Marshall 5520 bass combo plus the 1934 extension speaker that was made for it. According to drtube dot com:

This solid state bass combo was in production from 1983 upto 1988. It was fitted with a 15″ Celestion G15Z-200 T3629 8Ω 200W speaker.

JCM800 1934, Bass 1×15″ 150W 8Ω cabinet.

These cabinets were in production from 1983 up to 1986. It fitted with a “specially made Celestion” 15″ 8Ω 150W speaker. This cabinet was primarily meant as an extension cabinet for the 5520 Bass combo.

Dual channel combo with a built-in compressor, 4-band EQ on channel A along with a pre-shaped "contour" EQ that does the whole boosted bass & treble / scooped mids thing, along with a 3-band EQ with a different mids frequency on channel B. Comes with a non-original PEDL10013 footswitch (they don't make the originals any more, alas, but any dual latching footswitch will work), without the footswitch connected it defaults to channel A with the compressor enabled, which is the most useful / verstile configuration in my opinon. On the back there are two speaker outputs for 4/8Ω speakers, along with a send/return loop and a 6.35mm DI.

Both in fantastic nick, no marks or dings on the tolex and everything's in full working order. Last serviced by Marshall in January 2020 and mostly unused since then, I've seen the internals described as "big 'n' beefy and easy to service".

Dimensions for both are 57cm wide x 62cm high x 34cm deep. They're pretty heavy so collection only, the combo weighs 33kg and the extension speaker is a further 25kg. I literally can't get these up and down the stairs any more since I slipped a disc so off they go.

Lovely stack... looks class with a authoritive 'my space' for the bass player and 15's to get some air moving...

It's got some old school cool for sure. Maybe a little basic / no frills by modern standards but if you want that 80s - 90s hard rock thump it's got you covered. 

 

And standing in front of a Marshall stack (even one that's only just over four feet tall lol) never gets old.
