Clarky
That absolutely takes the biscuit as the worst conversion I have EVER seen - love the acres of space between edge of fingerboard and E string
lemmywinks
I'd swap the word "conversion" for "abomination". Looked like a really nice bass too

V4lve
Looks to me like it may have snapped off? Is it likely there was a flaw in the wood?

Happy Jack
That is so bad that it's genuinely funny. Why on earth did they not just buy a replacement neck?
Bassassin
It's obviously just broken where the top edge of the headstock was laminated. Doesn't look like it would be too hard to fix for a luthier or a bodger who's handy with a bit of wood. Pretty laughable trying to pass it off as a "conversion". Jon. bozzbass
i like the way it is described as 'Fender Squire Pro-Tone 5-String Precision Bass / Converted to 4-String' as if its a special feature. somedays, i love the internet Edited June 1, 2009 by bozzbass
jonny-lad
Wouldn't it be easier to covert it to a four-string by just removing the B-string instead of ruining a decent bass?!...it'd certainly look better as a 5-string with a string missing IMO! hubrad
Glad to know that "This guitar is in Great condition, with some belt scratch marks on the back body" Would be interesting to see 'ex-demo'...
Ou7shined
I have a sneaky feeling he might be doing the right thing selling it as is (although the missing saddle is a pain and the really bad buckle rash off putting) I think an obvious repair would devalue it more and the bass is not worth paying for an invisible repair. It's much better going to folk like us that can do it ourselves. Edited June 1, 2009 by Ou7shined

Delberthot
I'd personally be too embarrassed to let my friends see what an ar$e I'd made of this, never mind the whole world. What a Jack Danny

Kongo
What the HELL!? That's so stupid it made me cringe...why would anyone do that? Chop some headstock off and make a 4-string? Adding a string works...loosing one doesn't. I've never heard of this model before either...but I'm not sure. The old Squier series were basic...nothing fancy like this...But again, who knows what's out there! That's just stupid man!
