BigRedX
I used to own a few suitably old basses, but the sorts of instruments I want to play at the moment weren't available 50 years ago, so I don't have any now.

Looks lovely. Bits I like: 1. The fact each pickup has an on/off/mix switch, a volume and a tone. 2. The little pointers under the numbered knobs. Makes it super easy to dial in what you want. 3. It has character. Nice finish and feels more handmade than a like a modern cnc'd piece of wood. Edit: the headstock photo was taken before I did some work on it - previous owner had strung it all wrong!! Cool bass but very confused by the E and A strings! Gank Bass Posted Tuesday at 15:03 Share Posted Tuesday at 15:03 Sorry if this is not the right place! But I wondered if anyone could identify the bass in the picture? This is my dad in Germany in the late 60s. He can't remember the make/model or even where it ended up. I have a bit of a pipe dream of finding one to gift him for his 70th birthday. Any ideas?

Pea Turgh Posted Wednesday at 21:37 Share Posted Wednesday at 21:37 Here’s a rescue job I did last year. Assume late 60’s/early 70’s. Such a lovely neck! Headstock is massive and weighty, so a set of lightweight tuners will be fitted at some point.
