HX Stomp powering challenge

Hi all,

Let’s get your thoughts on this.
For reasons, I want to run a small board with a HX Stomp and a Boss Tuner. Both require power of course, with the Stomp requiring a fairly hefty 1amp. I would love to simply use the HX Stomp power supply rather than a Cioks or similar.

Is there a way I could split off some of that power to run to the TU2? Added challenge, would like the pedal powers isolated from one another.

I do also have a Diago Powerstation hanging around (3amps), but same issue, how do I split to two power outlets while remaining isolated and giving the Stomp what it needs.

Cheers

Si

Do they need to be isolated? Typically when the tuner is on it will be muting the signal too…?

otherwise a gig rig isolator or the mooer version?

an alternative would be to build a wee midi footswitch the size of thr space with 3 foot switches on for stomps tuner and two for whatever else you want … would still need isolated power…

I agree. I'd just get a footswitch. No power required and would do everything your tuner would do. this is mine. It's a footswitch built by a mate, but any old footswitch would do the job.

Not sure if what you want to do is possible but the stomp has quite a specific connector which might make it more complicated/expensive if it is possible.

Could you not just stick a battery in the tuner? It's not like it's going to be switched on for more than a few seconds at a time, so it'll last ages. Plus the noise problems that folks sometimes have with rechargeable 9-volters are unlikely to be an issue for a tuner.

Yeah, it’s a fair point about isolating the tuner. I just figured that as both pedals are digital, it would be preferable.

I already have a Pedalnetic foot switch extension for the Stomp, but would like to try and retain 5 switches for fx blocks rather than lose one on the tuner, hence a separate tuner.

The gigrig isolator would be great, but each output only gives 100mA.

Naaa, not down with batteries where I can help it, for a few different reasons.

Thanks though.
