HX Stomp powering challenge

i know you dont want to maybe spend money on anything but i see maybe two ways

use your diago into a gigrig distributor that then powers the hx, use another isolator of that to then power the tuner.

or you could grab a strymon Ojai and a 2 into 1 double lead that will run the hx and you have three outputs left to power the tuner from.

The tuner in the Stomp is excellent in my experience, I just don’t want to waste a switch on it in this setup. I have space for an external tuner, so why not.

Si

I’m guessing you already know you can activate the tuner by pressing "Action" and "Page >" buttons together?

For sure, that’s the thing though, by the time I’ve bought a Distro and an Isolator from Gigrig (as used they’re quite rare) I’m not far off getting a used Cioks Sol or Ojai as you say.

This exercise is trying to get the quietest setup (ie isolated if possible) for as little money as possible, utilizing the fact that I already have a Diago PowerStation and the original Stomp PSU.

Joyo ZGP?  I've not used one myself but read about them here previously.

I was vaguely aware of these, it would work do isolate the tuner, but doesn’t have enough output to power the HX Stomp. That said, I’m still yet to find an answer to this question (which I haven’t asked here yet). Does using an isolation block on just one pedal technical isolate both pedals from one another? Is it actually not necessary to isolate both pedals from one another?!

Cheers

No - the joyo thing is a filter, ir removes some noise from the power source, but in no way isolates the power from each other. I used one because it stopped a zoom that I was using at the time from interfering with the wireshark wireless I was using at the time. It worked, but later on I had to get an isolated power supply for another pedal.

I think where I’m getting to is realising that I should just suck it up and get another Cioks Sol haha.

Easier to just set it up and forget, because it’s doing everything that I need.

you could also look at the fender small power supply thats basically a cheaper styrmon, had a big one and it was sound

89 quid for the level 5 and your done

If you have two pedals powered from the same supply, and you isolate one of them, then the other should also be isolated, as there are only two pedals and neither can “see” the other. That’s my understanding of it anyway. Distributor and Isolator is the way to go I reckon. GigRig Virtual Battery will also act as a single isolator.

Don’t think it will fit under a PT Nano though. Thanks though.

Yeah that’s my understanding too, makes sense right?! lol. I’ll keep my eye out for some used Gig Rig in that case!

Wow that isolator seems expensive. Not really suprising as it is everything a normal power supply does. So if you have now decided to go for a new power supply woudln't any old isolated supply work?  Those £20-30 isolated power supplies work really well and are very low profile, I used those all the time until I went to the HB power strips
