They're offering two options: 1 - rolling your ticket over to a possible planned event in 2026. Or, 2 - refund of the ticket cost. Needless to say, I've requested a refund! The first offer is a bold one Quote
kevin_lindsay Posted April 11 Posted April 11 (edited) I've now received an email confirming that my ticket purchase cost has been refunded to me. It's still extremely annoying though that I'm out the travel and hotel cost. It would be good if Janek Gwizdala and Ian Allison manage to arrange a get together for the Sunday. Most hotel bookings allow you to cancel without penalty this far out. Quote

Byo Posted April 11 Posted April 11 Shame it's been cancelled. Currently watching Janek Gwizdala's latest video regarding the cancellation and the fact that him and Ian Martin Allison are still looking at doing something in London. I hope they do manage to put something together, I would definitely get a ticket to see them both. 5 Quote
Aidan63 Posted April 12 Posted April 12 If peeps are interested in having a hang with Janek and IMA and others then you need to post in comments on Janek's YT vid I linked to a couple of posts back, as he responded to my suggestion he and Ian come on here saying he doesn't do socials and no longer has login on here or TB 1 Quote
kevin_lindsay Posted April 23 Posted April 23 Well, the email advising me that the refund for the ticket cost (£47) was on its way to me, was received on Friday 18th April 24. It's now Wednesday 23rd April and the refund status is still showing as "Pending". Not impressed. 1 Quote
FlatsOff Posted April 23 Posted April 23 Where can you see the refund status? I'm in the same position Quote
Byo Posted April 23 Posted April 23 (edited) I have not been following this lately... Did Janek or Ian manage to sort out something instead? I have sent Ian a short message over IG, not sure if he will get to it but worth the try 😄 Edited April 23 by Byo Quote

kevin_lindsay Posted April 23 Posted April 23 Just received an email saying the refund is complete - not showing in my account though. I'll check tomorrow. So, is anyone considering attending any rescheduled event if it goes ahead in 2026? Hahaha 1 Quote
Wombat Posted April 23 Posted April 23 Considering yes, buying a ticket. Err maybe… Are the people stuck with coming to London still considering a meet up? 1 Quote
Byo Posted April 23 Posted April 23 (edited) Ian replied, such a great guy he is. Janek will be updating on the matter in a day or two. Looks promising though Edit*: this is regarding a Janek and Ian get together. Just wanted to avoid confusion with the refunds, as it's a completely separate matter. kevin_lindsay Posted April 23 Posted April 23 It would be good to get together for something, otherwise I'll be doing my Billy No-Mates impression, wandering around Lonfon on my own. Hahaha 2 Quote
Byo Posted April 23 Posted April 23 Janek just posted the below on his YouTube channel. They have managed to secure a venue in North London, in Dalston, on the 1st of June. Tickets on sale, I bought mine just now and with the exchange from US to GBP it comes to around £35. 6 Quote
Hellzero Posted April 23 Posted April 23 Wow, Janek Gwizdala is simply an amazing guy! Congratulations to him and his friend Ian Allison to organise this on the go so fast and on the same day! 1 Quote
kevin_lindsay Posted April 23 Posted April 23 Got my ticket bought. Looking forward to meeting up with you fellow BassChatters at the event. 2 Quote
iamtheelvy Posted April 23 Posted April 23 Nicely done. Thankfully, I avoided booking the travel and accommodation, so sitting this one out, but hope all who are up there have a good time! 1 Quote
toneknob Posted April 23 Author Posted April 23 What a great turnaround from Janek and IMA. btw everyone should go see this on Saturday night https://www.cafeoto.co.uk/events/baba-yagas-hut-kenji-hyakkei/ - just round the corner from the Vortex. And this is on at the Vortex Sunday evening https://www.vortexjazz.co.uk/events/2024-06-01/ and a free jam session downstairs at the Vortex same evening https://www.vortexjazz.co.uk/event/vortex-jam-session-4-2025-03-30-2025-04-13-2025-04-20-2025-04-27-2025-05-18/2025-06-01/ (I might cancel my holiday for all this now...) 2 Quote
