They have managed to secure a venue in North London, in Dalston, on the 1st of June. Tickets on sale, I bought mine just now and with the exchange from US to GBP it comes to around £35. See you all there! Si 2 Quote
kevin_lindsay Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Yay - Bass Day Europe refund is now in my account = £47 Purchase cost of the ticket for the Ian Allison & Janek Gwizdala event = £39. I've now got enough left over for the price of a London pint of beer! Hahaha 3 2 Quote

I've now got enough left over for the price of a London pint of beer! Hahaha That's a pretty bad USD conversion rate, be careful if you ever spend more in another currency with that card! I got only £34.45 deducted, more than 10% difference... 1 Quote
kevin_lindsay Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago (edited) Good deal - you've now got more money to buy some Crisps!! Hahaha I paid for the Janek / Ian ticket via PayPal as I didn't want to use my usual bank card. Looks like PP do pretty awful conversion rates (as you mentioned above). The very business model of PP is to scam out some sizeable pocket change from all parties involved. Google "Honey browser extension scandal", owned by PP... literally everyone involved lost money, except PP. Sorry, I am a very passionate PP hater. 😁 1 2 Quote

Don't quote me on THIS as I only have 2nd hand experience and I myself have never used international options (only some of my buds), but for that purpose there should be other similar solutions that are also instant and save you more money on fees & conversions. Also, I am going crazy offtopic here, sorry 😅 Scammy conversion fees trigger me. Quote
kevin_lindsay Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Just checked my transaction for the Bass Bash ticket - it was actually £35 something I was charged, not the £38 that i quoted earlier. Only 5 weeks until the get-together happens Quote

What's the conversion rate between moths and Australian dollars? Quote
