Current eventbrite link has it happening in Trafalgar Square 😂. Either a hoax or an idea they haven’t fleshed out yet?

Anyone going?

Wonder if it worth for the day & evening ticket..

But with the name of Ian, moto and janek

It seems quite a good event

I think most folk on here are waiting to see if this is actually a legit event. Very little info on who's actually running it, what's taking place (few names mentioned, but hardly anything about it on their social media), and the location seems to keep changing every few weeks...

There was a discussion about this event on Facebook.

Mark Gooday (Ashdown) hasn't been invited nor has Mark Stickley from Bass Direct...as traders you'd expect both to invited,  right?

I contacted the venue who don't have it in their diary.

The consensus was "scam"!

There's a new mystery, where did Danny's video go? It's now marked as private...

Was probably asked to remove it by them. Its being organsied by Dan Edwin who runs Bass Review Magazine (which seems to have died a death)

Blimey, this is the first post since this thread started on Nov 2nd which has some actual info. Thanks @Goliath_FX 👍 Like others, I've looked around the intenet to try and find more info with either nothing solid and very much a vagueness about the whole thing. I have heard Dan Edwins name many times on here but don't know him or his ways of working but if I was putting on a bass related show I'd want to be advertising as much info as possible to stir peoples interest and get them there. 🤷‍♂️ I'm assuming as he runs Bass Review Magazine he knows his competition / market and therefore is aware of Basschat / Talkbass / many bass specific Facebook groups which would help spread the word.

I've noticed a bit of a trend of events like this drip-feeding information over the months beforehand to allegedly build up the anticipation levels. I used to go to the London Bass Show regularly until they started doing this. I was reluctant to commit a lot of time and money (the ticket price was a minor consideration) to attending something where I didn't know what was happening! I know I am very much an outlier in being in Aberdeen but I'm sure many of us have to plan / budget / manage family etc to be able to attend. For me leaving it to the last minute to decide to go is not feasible as it's at least 2 nights in a hotel hotel, food, last minute flights / train pricing or the thought of a 1,100 mile round trip in the car if its London based!

Sorry, rant over.....I really do hope the event does go ahead and is successful. Whether it be a local Bass Bash or nationwide Bass Show they take a LOT of organising and commitment from the teams that put them on. We need them to be a success or we'll lose them 😢

There is a new Bass Show happening next month in Solihull near Birmingham. If you didn't already know. Organised by Jason who also runs the Guitar Show. Its the same weekend in seperate halls in the same venue so should be great. Jasons just told me that the bass hall is completely full this year and hopes to expand it next year.

I've also spoke to Danny, he was 'asked' to remove the video...

Yes, I was planning on going to the Birmingham show as it's around my birthday but decided at New Year to give it a miss as (even today) the website gives a great list of exhibitors but minimal info on what else is happening. There are 10 items in the Blog of which 1 is bass related 🤷‍♂️ Again booking hotels etc at the last minute gets expensive.....at least Birmingham is only a mere 850 mile round trip 🤣 I'm probably going to regret not going but hope it its a great weekend. 👍

Yeah I’ll be in the Bass Hall with my company Vintage Bass Room assisted by @AndyTravis again. Last year was great but a dedicated bass hall will be mighty! Pop by and say hello if you’re coming and remember discounts for Basschatters up to 10% too.

Well, I'm swinging back a little from 'scam' to 'disorganised but legit event'... However, if so many people are questioning if your event is legit, surely its time to get some details out into the world? The thing's only four months away...

Supposedly, the CLS Conference Centre, 107 Queen Victoria St, City of London, London EC4V 3AL.

However, at last check, none of their rooms were booked for that day, so who knows?
