Squier 6 String Jazz, so who’s tempted at this price?

I really shouldn't be - I've done 6 strings a couple of times now, and whilst I genuinely like them for the novelty and have no problem playing them, it's not a feature I really need so they eventually fall out of use when the novelty wears off and they get sold on. But at that price and with that nut width, yeah, I could easily be tempted to go round again.

I wonder how the neck profile on those feels (graphite reinforced slim C, as per specs).

apparently, it’s OK

not sure I have much use for a 6 string bass (let alone the room in my house to keep it) but I am almost tempted just for fun at that price

Were it not for the fact that I already have three six-strings that I very rarely use, have an aversion to buying Fender/Squier, and think that the headstock is probably heavy enough without the pointless testicle dangling from it, it would be quite tempting.

I've never owned a 6 string and have only played a few. I don't know what I'd do with one. And still it IS tempting for the Jazz Bass lover in me.

I think it sounds way better in the video from Empire Music (clearer and more detailed high end) then in Lobster's (harsher highs). Despite what Anthony (EM) claims, I really like how the neck pickup sounds soloed, at least the way he plays it 👍

I’m seriously considering it. I have the rare Steve Bailey 6er by Fender, but feel this would be a good substitute in certain circumstances. Has anyone here purchased one yet? What’s the verdict?

I have one. Just came last week. I'm impressed. Sounds better than expected for this price point. Plays fine. Not really that heavy. Ordered better tuners from Hipshot for it, which came today. I actually like the neck profile. No neck dive. String spacing is fine. Still working with it. But decided it's a keeper. Of course, I also have 2 G&L 5vers coming in as well. So, they'll be taking up a big chunk of my time. I've been searching for a Steve Bailey for years. Frustration as to availability made getting the Squier more desirable. Kinda glad too. Baileys are pushing into the $4k usd these days. I won't take a bass that valuable out to a bar gig. Bad enough I take 2 USA Fenders.

Great intro to 6 string, and probably not too difficult to shift due to the F word. Hopefully they’ll still be around at a good price next year when I’ve financially recovered from Christmas.

Still gutted I didn’t buy a Squier Vista series Musicmaster when they were selling for £100 in the late 90’s 😂
