Randy_Marsh Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 On my Warwick the input jack is a bit loose. A problem that seems to crop up a fair bit with warwicks apparently. Anyway, does anyone know if theres are cables out there that lock into the jack (if you get me) or what type of jack i should replace it with, the ones on Conklins look pretty beasty Quote
thisnameistaken Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 Loose as in wobbly, or just too "wide" for your plugs? The planet waves cables have a little flanged/sprung section that grips into jack sockets. Some people moan that they stretch their jack sockets and ruin them, but those people are insane. Quote
allighatt0r Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 Monster cables have slightly enlarged jacks (Oo-er missus!) but also have the jack bending/loosening reputation... you may be able to take the jack out and slightly bend the long tab that holds the plug in so that it holds it more firmly? Quote
Thunderthumbs Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 Yeah, I've heard it's a common problem with Warwicks. I've heard a solution is to replace the input jack with a Switchcraft one as they're supposed to be excellent quality. Quote
lemmywinks Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 +1 on the Planet Waves, although replacing the jack is probably the better solution in the long run Quote
thepurpleblob Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 You've got an *input* jack on your bass.... Oooh... what does it do? Quote
Doddy Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 I think you'd be better off fitting a new socket to be honest Quote

charic Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Ive heard a loose input is a common problem after childbirth. Quote

I use a couple of Monster cables and thought they've been a lovely snug fit in my Warwick Thumb BO for years, I find that other leads now feel quite wobbley and insecure in the socket. Love my leads, but a bit miffed that they've had this effect on my bass. Quote

I would fix the actual problem. You'll not be happy when the jack gives up altogether in the middle of a gig! Quote
