Shockwave Posted Monday at 15:21 Share Posted Monday at 15:21 (edited) You may remember I bought this bass recently. I slapped some light balanced tension strings on it and I love the playability! The electronics and the existing hardware has suffered a little bit when the bass was stored incorrectly by the previous owner. One of the Tuners is very very stiff and not serviceable. (Wilkinson Tuner) The bridge is missing some of the locking saddle nuts. I am looking at putting in an order with NorthWestGuitars. I can source a single new tuner and an exact replacement bridge for not a lot of money... Or I can spend a little more and get the same hardware but in a different colour! Do you think sticking with Chrome, or go with Gold or Black? I wish I was good with photoshop to help out with this! I have already purchased three new Full size Alpha 25k Pots and a new switchcraft jack. The existing Pots are very janky no name mini pots and I might as well replace the Jack whilst I am at it. It's active EMG's but with V/V/T The existing Capacitor is a .01uf orange drop style. Shall I stick with that? I know it's standard for Active Pups to have that value cap, but I do like bright tone... So maybe a .047uf? I guess I would lose some of the darkness at the lowest setting right? I am unsure if the range is wider in the pot, or it shifts the range completely higher. I am also looking at replacing the knobs as the existing ones are cheap plastic and they use solid shaft pots whereas I bought split shaft ones instead. Shall I go Metal, or maybe some Wooden style ones? Metal Knobs – Northwest Guitars Wooden Knobs – Northwest Guitars What say you guys?
