Hey ho

Player grade late 90s EB MM Stingray V.

Black and maple.

Black plate and bits.

G&L gig bag.

Finish is doing what finishes from then do, but it is still 99% hanging on.

The neck is great, if not spanky clean.

Tuners could use a clean.

Pickup and guts are spot on.

Took it in trade.  Mate said he paid Bass Bros £1400 for it.  Let's hope that isn't true... for several reasons....

I could strip it down, clean all the bits, strip the black and oil the wood and it would look as good as it plays.

But then it would be 'non orig finish' so might not recover the time and effort.

If you are a 'player', of course, none of that matters 'cos it feels fab and sings.

Happy to post to 'normal' post codes.

Any Qs or for more pics, let me know what you want.

That’s tempting. I remember black fenders from a certain era seem to crack like this. What actually causes that cracking?

It is a different shrinkage rate between the wood and the polyester.

I have a 2 eq and a 3eq 4 str doing it right now.

Have had lots of '70s Fenders so.
