Gank Bass Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 Hey 👋 Just thought I'd show some of my basses I use for wedding gigs! Happy to answer and questions about the process 1. Pink Hawaiian print, no real story behind it but I love pink basses! 2. My take on George Harrison's rocky, the Fookin Ell is an in joke with my drummer that helps ease the pain of a 4 hour drive at 2am! Go Pigs Go is a little tribute to my bulldogs. 3. I rarely use the jazz-bird because of a shoulder injury but it's a monster. The cow print seemed like a good idea at the time?? 4. Nothing special here just rattle can pink over green which has worn through. This is my number 1 gigging bass as it plays great and weighs nothing! It's fast approaching 100 outings Hope you enjoy! 14 Quote
EBS_freak Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 Really love the Hawaiin print! I nearly did a bass like that - but red and white - based on some boxershorts I have! Quote
Gank Bass Posted November 11, 2024 Author Posted November 11, 2024 With a little brown streak at the back? 😂 3 Quote

Gank Bass Posted November 12, 2024 Author Posted November 12, 2024 I'd kinda forgotten about this one- unfortunately this one never made it to live use as I came home to find the body had split from the heat of my kitchen (the body was very very cheap from eBay, to call it solid wood would be generous) Some day I may attempt something similar but for now- enjoy 8 Quote
Gank Bass Posted March 15 Author Posted March 15 Another in the collection just finished The pink bass suffered some unfortunate mold after being stored in a garage over a quiet period, the cleaning lifted more paint than I would have liked giving it a very unnatural 'relic' look. So decided to strip back and paint over During the process I came into possession of a p body that fit the neck perfectly so I decided to get a new one for the j from eBay off a Harley Benton lefty 2 Quote
Stub Mandrel Posted March 15 Posted March 15 Some fun designs nicely finished! Here's two I abused decades ago. Not as well executed. The B2 is now finished in stone effect. The ancient Jay was my first electric, bought just as Running Free hit the charts. Quote
