Origin Effects BassRig Ampeg B15 Fliptop recreation

I’m guessing if you’re reading it’s because you’d be interested in getting one of these fantastic pedals.

Sadly, it doesn’t yet exist. However, with the power of the internet, we can make it happen. I contacted Origin the other day to ask them to consider making this. Their reply was positive and mentioned that I’m “certainly not the first person to request this”.

So, I propose this, if you want one of these, send Origin a message to that effect using their contact form (linked below). If they get overwhelming interest, I’m sure they’d be motivated to make it happen.

Let’s do this!

Perhaps they could be persuaded to make a V2 of the super vintage which was switchable between svt and b15! Maybe too much like the newer Ampeg preamp then though...

Two requests I’d like to make if this were to become a reality: it’d be nice to be able to optionally have the cab sim on the 1/4” output. Similarly it would be nice to be able to optionally disable cab sim on the XLR output altogether.

Saw that they were working on a new prototype the other day. Sincerely hoping it might be this.

That would be amazing. And a great example of a company listening to customer feedback.

I was visiting the Yamaha store in central  London today and spent a lot of time with the Ampeg PF-20. As much as I liked its tubey warmth, it might be a tad excessive to use just as di to go straight into my recording interface….I might wait to see if Origin come up with the goods before splurging on an actual tube head!

The Ampeg is a lovely thing though….

Was so close to ordering one of these (also just to use into my interface) when they were £533 new during cyber week.

Same! Loving the SGT atm. I like this better than the Stomp model which requires alot of tweak IMO.

Ah yes, it’s been Christmas and you got one as a gift. Glad to hear you’re enjoying it. I have mine set fairly close to flat: bass at 2 o’clock, mid at 11 o’clock set to 300 Hz and treble at noon, grit at 9 o’clock set to B15 mode.  Using a P bass with labella 750FS.

The Flex does sound a bit different (probably closer to the Broughton Fliptop) and I can’t decide which I prefer.
