What's the best cheap (sub £40 new) split P pickup?

I suspect this thread may be short (Tonerider or Warman, EOT) but I thought I'd ask anyway in case anyone had any other bright ideas.  I'm putting a project together with an aggressively low budget and I'm looking for a great sounding but inexpensive pickup.

 

My current thoughts turn towards the Tonerider Duke (a mildly overwound 12k Alnico 5 job - https://tonerider.com/products/the-duke), but I'm happy to listen to any other ideas you might have!

If you can check behind the sofa for 3 quid, I'd go for the Kent Armstrong PBV in the classifieds.

Just checked back on the Tonerider site... P pups are now £49 + p&p, up from £35.

Makes the KA PBV (£58 + p&p) even more of a bargain at £35!

Broke my SD PU and to tie me over I bought an el cheapo no name Chinese thing off ebay. Its still in the bass, the Duncan is still in the draw.

I've gone for the Entwistle Neodymium job.  Before they put their prices up too!

Tonerider is probably still a great pickup too, but a 40% price hike in one go is a bit harsh, left a sour taste.

Entwistle neo (PBXN?) is IMO very similar to an SD Quarter Pound but with slightly more mids/less scoop, which, again IMO, makes it better. 

A very good hot P pickup.
