Lozz196 Posted Monday at 20:39 Share Posted Monday at 20:39 Ok probably a daft question but as above - it’s my Behringer BDI21 really - if I do this what leads do I have to use? Obviously I have to plug my bass into the input and XLR into the DI but do I need to plug a lead into the output even though it won’t be going anywhere as am using it standalone? warwickhunt Posted Monday at 22:10 Share Posted Monday at 22:10 Output can go; nowhere/personal monitor/combo/amp&cab/IEM/anywhere.
Lozz196 Posted Monday at 22:54 Author Share Posted Monday at 22:54 Thanks all, I’ve a gig on Sat where the stage is minute, we’re a 5-piece so to make my life easier with both loading in and setting up I’m travelling light and letting trusty BDI21 handle the load. Was fairly sure it wasn’t needed to be connected but great to have those that know confirm it.
Supernaut Posted Tuesday at 16:05 Share Posted Tuesday at 16:05 Let us know how you get on. The BDI21 is a decent pedal but I've never used the DI out in a live situation.
Lozz196 Posted Tuesday at 16:21 Author Share Posted Tuesday at 16:21 Will do - am hoping it works well as if so I’ll do this for all my gigs moving forwards.
fretmeister Posted Tuesday at 17:23 Share Posted Tuesday at 17:23 It works great - I do stick a compressor in front of it as well as I find that sounds more amp like to me. I've got the Behringer and the Caline clones. Nothing to pick between them really.
Supernaut Posted Wednesday at 10:10 Share Posted Wednesday at 10:10 My ampless setup is an Xotic Bass RC Booster into a Radial ProDI. I do have the BDI21 but have never used it live.
Downunderwonder Posted Friday at 05:32 Share Posted Friday at 05:32 Should be fine taking the lead from the desk to house DI and plugging it into yours. Not really any point to going bass, your DI, their DI, desk.
Lozz196 Posted Friday at 08:37 Author Share Posted Friday at 08:37 I tried this at rehearsal the other night, just for the connections mainly, and yep, bass into BDI21 input, XLR into the DI socket and all was good in the PA. Looking forward to trying it at the gig on Saturday.
