Bought a B-stock Sire Marcus Miller Z7 volume/tone knob stuck together - options?

Hi all, I've bought a B-stock Sire Marcus Miller Z7 5-string for £470, pretty much as new however there is a problem with the volume/tone knob (I suspect it's a return and they didn't fix it prior to sending it out to me), they move in sync and are basically attached together, please see the below video. As I managed to get it for a decent price I'm wondering, is this something that can be fixed easily? Or should I just return it and get my money back?

Little grub screw holding the knob(s) to the shaft(s)?

Slacken the screw of the top knob and lift a little, then tighten the screw... looks like its just resting to tightly on the lower half...

There's not a screw on the top knob, only on the bottom and unfortunately I don't have an allen key that fits it, the one I currently have which I used for my guitar knobs is slightly too big.

The top knob is just a push-on type.  You should be able to separate the upper and lower knobs quite easily without tools.

Thank you! The top knob was pushed on too far, I pulled it up a little and loosened it now it works fine.
