Those polarising figures over at DemonFX have done it again - this time they have cloned the fantastic Aguilar Tone Hammer preamp, and done a pretty good job so have to say.

I bought this online on a whim just because I wanted to see how close it actually is to the real thing - and it’s a very close, however once my curiosity was satisfied I really don’t have much use for it, I’ve got a Jad Freer Capo as my main preamp and although it might be decent - it’s never going to replace that 😁

9v or 18v power supply, Parametric mids, bass & treble all boost & cut, and 2nd channel with distortion that goes from very subtle to full on etc - you probably know all this, anyway it does a pretty good impression of a

Tone Hammer and if you don’t want to spend Tone Hammer money then this will do a job for you

Basically brand new in box, £45 inc delivery

I would trade for a Spectracomp or I also need an octave & a chorus pedal or owt else - try me!

I can take a photo of my actual pedal if you need me too, but it’s currently far too cold for me to be getting out of bed to start taking photos!

That is what it looks like though!👆

  • Paddy777 changed the title to DemonFX ‘Tone Mallet’ (Aguilar Tone Hammer Clone) Preamp/DI - £45 inc P&P

"Tone Mallet", they're absolutely shameless lol, at least they've changed the name if not the livery this time tho.

What's the build quality like, are there any grounding issues? Some of the DemonFx pedals I've tried felt like they were made out of recycled coke cans and buzzed pretty loudly when the controls were touched.
