Rodders
I am right in thinking that XL scale strings, (38" ball end to silk) would fit my Dingwall ABZ 4? (E is at 36.25"). Just looking around at different options as I find the .100 E in the majority of multiscale sets too light for my taste. I use NPS strings and have found that EB make a set and so do La Bella so far, any other recommendations would be much appreciated.
MichaelDean
You can always get a set made up by Newtone to your spec. I'm really enjoying my first order from them! A custom set at .125, .09, .07, .05, .03 for CGCFC tuning on my Combustion. And now they've got standard multiscale sets on the website, I didn't have to measure the strings like they ask you to. I just said it was for a Combustion when placing my order and that was fine.
franzbassist
What is the distance from the ball end to the tuner side of the nut? That will tell you the length you need. Lots of brands regular long scale strings are 37 or 37 1/4" long, so you may be okay.

I think from what I read specs wise they are 38" "Speaking Length". Some say the total length is 50" which I thought was excessive.
