Danelectro Red Hot Longhorn Bass (UK Postage Included!) - *SOLD* £400 Newcastle Upon Tyne

Bit of a feeler this one - I'm still a bit undecided on selling it, but need to make way for something incoming. This is the new version of the Longhorn which adds binding, an F Hole & souped up pickups to the mix. Looks / plays / sounds great & is really light! I bought it new & since I had it I did this: -

 

- Replaced stock tuners with Gotoh SD90s

- Swapped out the strap buttons for Gotoh Contemporary ones, which makes it feel a lot more stable on a strap

- Strung with Ernie Ball flats. They are the 'Group 2' 45-105 set

- Took the gloss neck finish back to matte & rolled the fingerboard edges. There's a slight bit of finish wear on the E string side of the neck, but it's just cosmetic. Overall it makes it feel a lot more comfortable than it did out of the box

 

I'll do this posted in the UK all in for the price, but a cash / collection deal in Newcastle would be preferred

I think you're exaggerating... by about 1/4"!

Ha! Yeah - they are 29.75" scale. Here's the closest thing I've found to an official spec on the UK distributor's site - https://www.jhs.co.uk/products/danelectro-longhorn-bass-red-hot

Shall I tell you what stops me? The strap button. I've never felt comfortable with that position for the front strap button. The bass kind leans away from me, and on my enormous stomach it positively rolls over.

If I lose six or seven stone and it's still here, I promise I'll buy it.

I know what you mean about the strap button placement - the Gotoh buttons definitely help with that & make it feel more solid on a strap than other Danos I've had. I found it works best slung a little lower & sits nice next to my ever-expanding belly! 🤣👍

I have a 90’s Longhorn which I love, but this one is causing me some serious Dano envy.

Oh Wow. Since I got my Dano Longhorn earlier this year, I have absolutely loved it. With the f-hole and colour of these, I must say I have been tempted (even though I don't need it, and am trying to thin the collection). If I lived closer to you, I just know I'd be popping in to try it.... and am sure I would succumb to temptation. These new ones look so good.
