What problems have you had with Reverb?

EBay is grotesquely unfair to a seller and I thought Reverb was just more balanced.  This sounds like a simple NAD case that the seller has refused to compromise on, so how did Reverb handle this?

Sorry to hear of the trouble.  If it was me, the bass would be going back as I'd never get over the issues unless it could be restored fully to original spec.

It's all water under the bridge now @Kev. I opened opened a partial refund request with Reverb to cover a new circuit having messaged the seller, but the seller refused this so it was simply closed, no investigation or request for details from Reverb. A week or so later I opened a full refund case, again refused, so I opened up a chat with Reverb to try to resolve things, which was clearly a bot. I had to navigate a lot of time-wasting before I was able to talk to a person, who asked for further details and then indicated that the conversation needed to move to email where I would need to provide photographic evidence. It was a busy day so didn't get around to it and received an email the following evening saying the case had been closed but that I could reopen by going through the same process again. Arghh! I did wonder if they have some glitches with their IT, but either way, it seemed chaotic and rushed, and at no point offered me the opportunity to point out that photos of a circuit that doesn't work are not going to be much use if the seller simply refuses to take any responsibility.

Either way, it's a rare and unique bass, and if Status are unable to replace the circuit I can probably get something interesting from John East or elsewhere. I think I got a bit hung up on the electrics, when really it's the extraordinary design and engineering of the bass itself, especially the neck which is quite unique and extraordinary, as well as it's lovely origins and history, that are key.

So all in all, perhaps Reverb's crapness did me a favour 👍

I think Mr Beed is happy with the outcome.

Give it a couple of months though, and there'll be a thread "Precision Bass: I have always loved you and always will. There will never be another 🥰"

Yes, happy, another lesson learned though

And I will always keep a Precision as my go to bass 👍
