Flanging is also a lot more forgiving about the sweep time not being directly related to the tempo, whereas phasing nearly always sounds wrong unless it is synchronised to the tempo ideally with the high and low points of the sweep being at the start of a bar.

Nah - that's exactly why phasers are so good.

Imagine outing yourself as a "Friends" fan on here... oh! 🫢

I also like headless basses, prog and "too many strings" and will happily play Jean-Michel Jarre, Gojira and Barbara Thompson's Paraphernalia on the same playlist 🤷🏻

I love Jarre. Have done since I was a kid and into keyboard playing. I finally got round to seeing him live at the O2 for his 10.10.10 concert. That'll stay with me for a long time.

It would be even more delirious, it would be "Flanjehrrr", with the stress on the last syllable, especially in Paris where it would even become "Flanjehrrreh". 🤦

That's if they would even deign to speak to you... I had a Parisian girlfriend for a while, she would often never speak to me or acknowledge me, mmm.... now that I think about it, I wonder if it was me....

My wife doesn't understand me.

She can't speak a word of English.
