Shopping for audio interfaces at the moment, I figure if I have a pc it's probably the best option..... I think

Just got my Son a Focusrite 2i2 Gen3, (over the Solo as 2x 1/4" inputs for Stereo Effects etc.) Deal at CC.

Discount and Refurbs on Focusrite site.

Boss Katana Go dongle with some headphones off my iPhone. Also go the Wazza airs, they are good too. And the spark 40, which I always used to use but it is tied to my iPad which is upstairs, but still use it a bit as it is to the side of me and the only one of the aforementioned devices that makes sound without headphones!

I used to use my Scarlett 2i2, and it also served up computer audio either to my monitors or headphones.

Just switched to using my QC on my desk, doing the same job, but it means it's always in reach to tweak. While I'm not doing any band stuff, it doesn't need to be portable!

I recently got a UA Volt 2 and it has been great on a Windows Laptop.

Or for simple headphone practice, the Nux mighty plug is good.

I have a Boss Katana Go which I love. You can stream your phone too it and play along through the headphones.

they got discontinued but plenty on eBay etc

I had one and returned it, could to set the streamed audio Vs the guitar volume without just turning everything down

Couldn't you just set the volume of the source? I just use it with my phone, turn the volume up or down for the source, and the volume knob for the bass

I’ve got the NUX Mighty Plug Pro, it just plugs straight into your bass and then plug your headphones into the unit. Links with an app called Mighty Amp, or there’s another version called Mightier Amp. Links to your phone via Bluetooth for playing along to tracks. Pre loaded drum tracks, and the ability to make your own patches via the app with lots of effects

I use a Spark Go. It's got just enough bass amp configuration to get the sound I want, and doubles up as a good headphone amp for my guitar. That and the play along features which I use on guitar makes it worthwhile for me. But if I only played bass then I might not have chosen it. Also the effects are decent enough. You can add a bit of grit to your sound, and EQ, noise gate, etc.

Forgot to mention, I've got an old Vox amplug but it hisses like mad. Maybe the newer ones are better, or try a different brand?

I've got a Boss Katana Go and a Nux Mighty Plug Amateur. I prefer the Boss once I got it properly connected. I also use the Moises app (unpaid version) to split the bass out from the other instruments, so I can listen specifically to the bass track or play everything else without the bass so I can accompany it.

Since installing a Behringer XR18 in my practice / rehearsal room, I use that and the powerplay controller for remote monitor mix into Focal headphones. Flexible solution that covers just practicing through to recording the band.
