Yes, it is, I wasn't suggesting that you made it up.

I know, but you'd be surprised sometimes - I have a friend whose name is Saara.  She told me a story that one time she spelled her name out to some customer service type over the phone and they asked her if she was sure that's how it's spelled!  Her own effing name!  Still makes me chuckle when I think about it to this day.

The three separate string tree efforts, when one bar would provide uniformity of break angle simply and cleanly, for me ruin what would be an otherwise tasty looking design. It just looks messy, like they never really thought through what they were trying to achieve and bodged a solution from the parts bin.

Or just have an angled neck and not have to mess about with string trees at all!

I just love my favourite bass.

The headstock is so small and perfectly formed....and the fact it is painted to match the body is the icing on the cake.

Indeed - I don't like unfinished headstocks, unless it is on an unfinished bass. I guess I mean non matching headstocks!

Have you? Its a shame because I agree with Doctor J that they are a more elegant solution to the break angle issue

I have never found the break angle to be an issue.

Lovely…

THe 50s silhouette of the headstock is nice but those tuners look like the end of knitting needles. Some big old emelphant ears would work a treat!

Do you know what…they’re phenomenally stable…the basses in their entirety look like toys; but they’re mint.

I had a 6 string for a while. Played amazing but never gigged it. Really wish I had

Warwick (4 string) is my favourite, especially the older ones with the more rounded edges. An old Fender headstock feels like home, love them too. Always liked the Tobias headstocks (anybody got a picture?). And the Jaydee on here is just so classy.

If only they'd stay in tune 😔

Mine does…I’ve heard this a fair bit though; did a 4 hour rehearsal with mine and tuned once at the start.

that was the silver one with 45-105 d’addario

weird.

cant comment on the red one as the strings are old…and I’ve shoved a Nordy mute on it…

I can only assume all other instruments drifted out of tune to exactly the same degree. Mine goes out of tune if you look at it funny.

Actually, mine's a Longhorn (!) so not quite the same bass 😁

34” scale might have some impact?

I do want the 4 saddle bridges…going to talk to JHS (UK distributor) at the Birmingham show in March.

Might be getting a 3rd one soon if a trade comes off.

My favourites have always been the Wal 4 strings, a bit clunky for some tastes, but that’s just me. Their 5 and 6 strings are exactly the opposite; too much of a departure for me I think.

Warwicks have a similar aesthetic, so I’m quite fond of those and they have the added bonus of ergonomic tuner layout which I like. They’re like an ‘MDP’ but good!
