NOW TRADED

Here's the next one in the great arthritis-induced bass sell off.  Your chance to bear the burden of ownership of a lovely Squier Vintage Modified Precision Bass TB - 3 Tone Sunburst as these basses only appear for sale occasionally.  The serial number is from 2007/08 so that would make this bass one of the very early ones as these basses were only sold between 2008 and 1012.  Solid old-school rock thump; think Fender 70s tele basses.

The bass is currently strung with some well-worn in Thomastik TI Flats.  The Ash top and back have particularly lovely grain that shows through the finish.

The bass has benefitted from some quality upgrades:

·      The bridge is a 4-saddle item with brass saddles, possibly Wilkinson given the tuning machines fitted.  Normal and through-body stringing are supported.

·      The tuners are Wilkinson long stem items.

·      I believe that the electronics have almost certainly been upgraded but I cannot 100% guarantee that

·      There is also a pickup surround that is not original and was on the bass when I acquired it.

Here are the full specs:

·      Body:  Basswood with Ash top and back.

·      Bridge:  2-Saddle Vintage-Style Precision Bass® - upgraded with 4-saddle bridge with brass saddles

·      Colour:  3-Color Sunburst

·      Controls:  Master Volume, Master Tone – upgraded electronics

·      Country Of Origin:  Indonesia

·      Fingerboard:  Maple with black dot inlays

·      Fingerboard Radius:  9.5" (241 mm)

·      Neck Pickup:  Fender-Designed Humbucker

·      Neck Finish:  Satin Urethane

·      Neck Material:  Maple

·      Neck Shape:  "C" Shape

·      Number of Frets:  20

·      Nut Width:  1.6” (40.6 mm)

·      Scale Length:  34" (86.36 cm)

·      Tuning Machines:  Standard Open-Gear – upgraded with Wilkinson long stem tuners

The bass weighs 4.1kgs (or 9lbs in old money) on my digital scales and will come with a good quality gigbag.  It is in very good condition with hardly a mark on it that I can find, the finish is a lovely gloss that show all the reflections of the stone which doesn't help when you're not a very good photographer!

If you have any questions please just ask.  Also, if you want any more pictures of any part of the bass, I’ll do my best to capture the detail you are after.  Collection or meeting up somewhere is much preferred, but I have packaging so can post (UK Only).  I'll split the cost of postage 50/50 wit you.

I realise that I need to do a proof of ownership pic., but if you have any concerns please look at my ACG J-Type listing you will see the same floor and wall behind the bass that will hopefully give you some re-assurance ahead of me sorting out a picture.

They did a great job matching the grain on the back.

They did indeed.  The front is pretty good too but the p/g obscures most of it.  I'd like to think that this being one of the very early ones, that extra care was taken.  Who knows...
