Fender Flea Active Jazz Bass (+sound clips) £1500 £1750 Chesham

£1500 sale price - This was previously trade only, but circumstances have changed. 
 

Very reluctant listing, the bass is stunning but too long for my neck and back issues -  the nut sits a touch further away than a 20 fret Jazz as this has 22 frets. Unfortunately I’m already at my comfort limit with a regular 20 fret Jazz. 

 

Made in USA, only for about 2-3 years, this one from 2019. 

Amazing tone, extremely authoritative and punchy - with a Aguilar preamp and Fender Tim Shaw specially designed pickup (if only they sold this separately). There a couple of sound clips in posts below. Really inspiring tone. 

 

Quatersawn neck with a compound radius, so the fingerboard gets flatter as you go up the frets. Can get a silly low action if you want it. Feels spot on. 

 

Comes with original case and all candy. 
 

Only 2 tiny marks on the back, as shown in photos. They are easy to miss, as you can see from the outside photos.

 

Weighs approx 9.33lbs / 4.23kg

 

Due to health issues affecting travel I’d need a deal to be done in Chesham, HP5 
 

Honestly, really gutted to be listing this bass.

Having looked for a very long time I speak from experience when I say that these do not come up for sale very often, which usually means they're so good once people have them they keep them.

Well, I would go Modulus territory again if @hiram.k.hackenbacker lost his mind and sold me back the purple one 😢🤣

One of the rare newer releases that Fender got right vs just another P/J Bass. So of course they discontinued it 😆

Just realised I had an old self-made backing track of RHCP when I was testing pickups in the summer, I just re-recorded with this bass and here's a link...
