Delberthot Posted Monday at 22:23 Share Posted Monday at 22:23 (edited) As I get older I find the angle that I like to hold my bass gets higher and higher but there's only so much a set of lightweight tuners can so I am seriously thinking about something headless. A Status is probably out of my budget so maybe a Cort Space 5 or an Ibanez with regularly angled frets ( if such a thing exists ) Edited Monday at 22:23 by Delberthot

NancyJohnson Posted Monday at 22:56 Share Posted Monday at 22:56 I suspect I'll pick up a Sansamp XB Driver at some point, although for the life of me I don't know why. Brother-in-law does frequent business trips to the US, so I'll get one shipped to a colleague of his in Houston and he'll bring it back. About half UK retail in America. Rodders Posted yesterday at 09:23 Share Posted yesterday at 09:23 Rickenbacker 4003S (not fussed on colour) Spector Euro 4 (again not fussed on colour) Dingwall Combustion 4 - natural ideally. Whether I will manage to purchase any of the above next year is another matter but these are what I would like currently.
kusee pee Posted yesterday at 12:21 Share Posted yesterday at 12:21 Having been off gigging for a couple of months with cancer, I've got strong GAS. In particular for another Bogart 35" 5er which pretty much don't exist unless I order new. Either that or something else headless/graphitey. Or I may grab another Dingwall and get back to gigging them. Or splash out on a decent pedal board.
LeftyJ Posted yesterday at 13:39 Share Posted yesterday at 13:39 Nothing in particular, and everything in general I don't have any specific GAS at the moment, but then again I rarely do: it usually just suddenly overcomes me whenever I come upon a piece of gear that speaks to me. The exception is I'd really like to own a vintage lefty Mustang Bass or Musicmaster Bass some time - but the prices have gone completely mad. That said, I have a few other items on my list that I still really want to try sometime: Spector Euro LX 5; Something (anything) with fanned frets; I'm really impressed with my Sandberg Lionel and wouldn't mind a longscale California VM or VT; Zon Sonus or Legacy 5.
Cosmo Valdemar Posted yesterday at 13:56 Share Posted yesterday at 13:56 The only gear I really want is a Tech 21 XB, but it's not going to happen at the current ridiculous prices.
Pow_22 Posted yesterday at 14:05 Share Posted yesterday at 14:05 Origin Effects - either Super Vintage or Blackface a nice Precision Cheapo Ampeg PF350 for backup
JoeEvans Posted yesterday at 14:48 Share Posted yesterday at 14:48 I keep thinking about some kind of valve preamp, the kind that doesn't really do much except make things sound nicer in a way that's hard to define.
BassApprentice Posted yesterday at 14:53 Share Posted yesterday at 14:53 Some motivation to get back playing would be great! 😅 If that does appear - I'll be getting some new pickups for my MTD Kingston or alternatively getting a Kingston Super 5! Frank Blank Posted yesterday at 15:25 Share Posted yesterday at 15:25 Hmmmm, a 2025 gas list... Xenon Krypton Oganesson (headless) ...and maybe a nice Radon with a tort scratchplate

TbirdnTalman Posted yesterday at 15:55 Share Posted yesterday at 15:55 currently lusting for a T40 or a blacktop jazz but don't need (I am told) either, pending that Euromillions win..........
Woodinblack Posted yesterday at 16:13 Share Posted yesterday at 16:13 Not sure I have anything much to speak of. There are a few basses that I wouldn't say no to, such as a 5 string status headless but they don't come cheap so there is a bit of a gap between cost and want that probably will prevent it. A better way to trigger synth lines. although TBH - I have all I need, if I just put it together into some giggable form!
Len_derby Posted yesterday at 16:18 Share Posted yesterday at 16:18 A 4 string, short scale with a maple neck is on my list for next year. I’d like to try a used JMJ Mustang at some point, but not while owners are asking 70%+ of the price of a new one!
Bassman68 Posted yesterday at 17:03 Share Posted yesterday at 17:03 Trying to talk myself out of a Sandberg California TM (that darn configurator!!) …… I don’t need another bass? I’ve got 4 instances next year where my basses will be shipped in vans, whilst the band fly to destinations, Do I want an Enki case or Gator minivault to lessen the freight items? Will it make life easier? 🤔
asingardenof Posted yesterday at 17:54 Share Posted yesterday at 17:54 A certain G&L L-2500 Tribute would definitely still be on the list, but I suspect having to buy a house will be more pressing a purchase.
Skybone Posted yesterday at 18:15 Share Posted yesterday at 18:15 (edited) A band doing something interesting locally would be nice. Until then, it will be just GAS. Apart from that: Dingwall D-Roc (the sparkly blue 4 string) Gibson Ripper Guild B302 An 8 string (octave course) A semi-acoustic with twin single coils, preferably long scale EBS Magni 502 Laney Digbeth 500 & associated cab (undecided which one) Line6 HX Stomp XL Other bass related stuff... MichaelDean
Oh man. My GAS list is too long. Realistically, it might be a few DIY pedals. I should be getting a kit or two for Christmas. And I really should finish my home build. Unrealistically, first on the list is a D-Roc 5 string. Then in no particular order... Custom Dingwall of some description Cort Space Bass A custom Alpher An ACG 4003 Squier Rascal Limelight P Bass Les Paul Bass of some sort Spector Dimension 5 HP in Plum Crazy A 6 string bass? Quad Cortex A bass VI could be fun High quality bitsa? Custom Zilla 4x12 Edited 23 hours ago by MichaelDean Uncontrollable GAS
Dazed
Many plans floating around my head that may or more likely not happen as they haven’t come to fruition in the years they’ve been there. A non wood headless 5 or 6 (if pushed) string but rarely see them. Possibly take the leap into the world of Kemper and see if it can be the thing to replace all the other things that have gradually taken over what little space I have at home. Some form of home recording set up but that will also need to be tiny. This may be the wrong place but I am in serious need of a huge gear sell off so that could happen (🤣🙄)
meterman
Nothing really, except maybe a ballsier little practice amp to record with. Ampeg, maybe? And I've been looking for one of these Antonelli organs in the super rare turquoise finish for years, maybe a decade. I always see red or black ones but... If I ever find one, I'll pay the full €10 they go for. Otherwise, I'm sorted. 👍
mrtcat
Literally nothing on my gas list. I'm back up to about 100 function gigs a year and it's kinda sucked the joy out of playing so I don't really care what gear I'm using. I have a nice amp, a squier 40th anniversary p bass and my in ears. That's all I need. I'll probably sell off some of my more valuable basses in 2025. Elfrasho
I've got a broken 10" combo with a good cover which I'm hoping to convert into a passive cab. That should be easy enough so to accompany it I fancy a wee micro head. Maybe npt even a bass head and purely for home volumes.
