alyctes
An Azumi, allegedly MIJ in the 1970s. I think the offset P pickup doesn't quite work with the symmetry of the rest of it, but that's probably just me. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/395961567253?itmmeta=01JE4XBWBTGCGZ3TP18H8DNX4Z&hash=item5c31260815:g:m8AAAOSwMutnTcyR&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAAwMxmj%2BiGvOveHXEBClPb29ieFt9NVZ1KncWJcGNpDh5SDiMJ%2FBxkmmfCRUVA5%2BJX2NchxBUc%2BZOmLAvledggJw0RjVv0tniG9XReNh2iXRg11MTmfR%2Bl5Lt7i%2BhWIYDnNQdDVYebpmqi2c3vUiN0Se5AGhr9LjK1I8xqOeeRCZAv7Vv610BgbfV6Bi09DErx4%2BiaBuu11DYpTkx46MqYC8kBitADdjxc7JK%2FFQGp5JF%2BZOqFRTE96wcIPhqEkpgJlg%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR_rFr53xZA
rushbo
"sounds like a rhinoceros on a skateboard on full volume. (in a good way)" If that doesn't sell it to you, I don't know what will. Edited December 5 by rushbo
lemmywinks
Quite like that, has the same finish on my old Hondo Pro:
Bassassin
Interesting, not seen one the same as this before. Late 70s/early 80s foray into original design on a modest budget, by the looks. There's some significant misalignment going on somewhere, with the E string close to escaping the fretboard up at the dusty end. Maybe a wonky/loose neck joint rather than bridge positioning. I have encountered the Azumi brand before, think this is probably a Chushin Gakki build although that truss cover for some reason's making me think Kiso Suzuki. And I'm not even drunk. 2

The strings look symmetrical as they pass over the pickup, so as you say more likely something wrong at the neck joint rather than both the pickup and the bridge being misplaced. Not unattractive but not exactly striking either.
BigRedX
DiMarzio pickup? Or a look-alike copy?
FlatEric
TRC Looks similar to Seiwa, which I'm sure Jon told me was Chushin.
