Up for Sale a bass I purchased as a project to renovate, but when I got hold of it it played fine and is in great condition for its age, missing the pickup surrounds (I’m sure someone on here has 3d printed some)

It doesn’t come with a hard case, I do have an old soft case It lives in atm.

It’s not a light bass around 10 pounds due to the aluminium neck but it does make for a unique tone.

If your looking to get your Mick Karn on, this will do it.
I’ve looked for these online and most are between £1200 - £1600 albeit with cases.
Im selling it for what I payed for it, im not convinced with eBay costings.

Happy to drive within 30 miles or more for petrol.

Without the hard case I’d rather not post but would trust it to @walshy man with a Van.

I have exactly the same model; amazing basses.  @Bunion is right, it actually does the Mick Karn tone better than my fretless Wal.

Some really lovely figured grain on this too (American black walnut with maple stringers), normally quite a plain grain on this model.  The notoriously fragile walnut pickup surrounds always break, but are more cosmetic than functional.

Crazy cheap for a US made vintage bass of this quality.  GLWTS :i-m_so_happy:

I also  have a vague memory of the bass player from Talk Talk using one of these. I remember seeing them on TOTP in the early eighties and thinking 'What the **** is that?" When I saw the fretless 450 he was playing.
