Due to arthritis really starting to affect my hands I am selling off pretty much all my basses.  It now falls to me to sell my Jet basses.  Both the J and this one, the P bass, are really nice instruments with some really high-grade features for their price point.  I have to say that the neck on this bass is an absolute delight to move around on.  The full spec is below.

The bass comes with a new Fender gig bag, and this one weighs a very playable 3.6kgs.  The upgrades that I have made are as follows:

·       Full copper foil shielding

·       Good quality loom

I’d say the colour is very similar to the Sherwood Green that Fender has.  The bass is in very good condition having been used at home for practice and I will be immensely sad to see it go.  The bass will come with the original split coil pickup fitted.  This is a very nice ceramic pickup with a good strong output typical of their type.

Specifications:

Hardware: Chrome, Vintage-style

Neck: Canadian roasted maple

Shape: Modern C

Fretboard: Rosewood

Radius: 12″

Nut Width: 42mm (1.7″)

Nut: Bone

Truss rod: Double action

String Scale: 34″

Number of frets: 20

Body: Roasted Poplar

Pickup: 1x split coil

Pickguard: Red tortoise

Controls: 1 volume, 1 Tone

Strings: D’Addario

As ever collection or meet up is preferred, but I have packaging and can ship to the UK only.  If you want any more information or pictures, please just ask.  Thanks for stopping by.

Sorry to hear about your arthritis. Those Jet P basses are on my radar for a cheap P Bass and yours would be very desireable if I was in the UK. Love the look of that one.

Hope you can find something to ease the pain - I have this bass too with TI flats and every time I play it, it makes me smile. Great for a backup - definitely a gigging bass - well worth £300. GLWTS

Really lovely colour on this bass. That red tort plate is just the perfect colour combo too IMHO.

If I needed a reasonably priced 34" scale P bass, I'd be considering this - especially as its pretty lightweight too.

Moreover, sorry to hear of your arthritic issues. I'm playing short scales more these days - mainly to ease weight on my left shoulder, plus to head off any potential finger joint problems. So I hope you find a similar solution - so you can keep on playing.

That colour sure is the best colour there is. Only burgundy red is on par with that.

@ead: "Due to arthritis really starting to affect my hands..."

I have had quite a lot of issues with my hands. As a former road cyclist I tried to destroy my hands with wind and cold. Nowadays I need warmers. Sugar and acidic food is also really bad for my joints. One of the best piece of equipment has been a (cheapo) muscle hammer. Extensor muscles love some light and long massaging with it. Before selling everything, please make a trial with a hammer. Lactic acid takes a few days to leave your muscles and body. Drink lots of water, and keep your arms warm.

I am hanging on to a few basses just to keep trying, but interested to hear about these muscle hammers.  Could you PM me a link please?

I strongly suspect my issues are related to a lot of rugby and finger dislocations etc.

Yes, definitely looking around for a short scale 4-string to try out.

One more thing to remember while you massage your body:

Always towards your heart!

This means that when you hammer your muscles, the hammer needs to move from toes to hip, or from fingers to shoulder. This way you do not ruin your veins' valves!

Arteries are hidden, they do not care. Veins have valves (in your legs) that you must not destroy.

...and GLWTS.
