traceisking Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Heya, Right always said I would never sell this but I would prefer the money right now as im skint and cannot claim MP expenses =( Its an all valve bass head and is a one off! If you look up Trace Elliot V6 you will find they are already pretty rare but this one is a one of a kind Custom model serial CV6001 brought off a Trace Elliot trade show its around 12 years old i believe. These amps run valves really well even at low volume! and has a really smooth sound with alot of punch and can go way loud!! it runs at 300watts apparantly! but sounds alot more!! and is very reliable I have had it for 6 years and its never gone wrong! Ok a little about the amp The controls are simplistic gain bass, mid, treb and a pull shift knob on the mid's bright and deep switches Di Section with grond switch and pre post eq section selection and a volume and standby oh also its got a light thats in a thing that makes it look like a glowing jewel which is a bit pimping =) This amp is a tribute to rock solid engineering and is one of very few all valve bass heads! Main differences to a standard V6 the casing is completely different it has a silver lacquer finish with black holed billet front and backs and it has 6550eh tubes offers? so far i have been advised around 600-1200 pounds. As this is a Custom one off amp i guess its really worth what anyone is willing to pay. But if there are any collectors of these amps out there maybe they have a vague idea! Thornybank Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 My two were green carpet, as is Andy67's V4. My matching 2x15 cab is green carpet, as was my 4x12. The V series stuff seems to have been built as orders came in; hence, some have the standard pre and some the compressor version (a la V8). Expect some internal quirks in all examples. Never saw a cab in the silver.... Original valve sets were Trace printed Ruby Tubes Chinese. Tonality seems pretty much valve independent.
Stag Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 I would love to have tried one of these out with a nice sounding Trace Cab. Something like, hmmm, i dunno.... http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=50144 hehe. Have a free BUMP
