SteveXFR Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago (edited) NOLA is about the history of the metal music scene in Louisianna. It's mostly around bands including Down, Corrosion Of Conformity, Crowbar, Eyehategod and Acid Bath. An interesting history of where the music comes from, the people and the events. Some of it gets pretty dark Edited 8 hours ago by SteveXFR 2 1 Quote

Some of it gets pretty dark I'll definitely give this a go, thank you! I dwelt in that scene for most of my 20s. I've had it up to here with Philip but I'm guessing he's all over this 😄 1 Quote

Pretty much same as you spent most of musicainhood in this scene. i remember, think it was the underworld in 2000, Crowbar supported by EHG and soilent green. pretty intense 1 Quote
acidbass Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I really loved the 'Look Through Any Window' documentary about The Hollies which I watched randomly, and I have been a fan of the band ever since! Conversely, I watched 'When Blondie Came To Britain' which made me decide that I firmly do not like that band! 1 Quote

A great band, somewhat overlooked due to the Beatles and Stones I think. 1 Quote

Definitely, the harmonies especially are easily on a par with the Beatles and I loved how they were among the first bands credited with using backing tracks live! Side note - I never really got the hype about the Stones but of course I live in a different era. Some great tunes no doubt, but their live performances from back in the day are trashy at best. I saw them live in 2010 ish and was rather underwhelmed. Quote
Twigman Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Might I recommend Walking in The Opposite Direction https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6139984/ It's a study of Adrian Borland and The Sound The same production team has been producing a documentary about us for the past 2 years (!). I have no idea when it will be released, hopefully later this year. Quote
