Bass4real Posted December 15 Share Posted December 15 I'm not a fan of social media , I did join talkbass , I liked it at first , I've been playing Bass since I was 15 yrs. old , I'm 62 now , I've seen alot , done alot , been alot of places , had alot done to me , good and bad , played 1000s of shows with different bands , and like to share the good , the bad , the ugly . and the funny every word of every story I post is truth and that is the truth. Soon after I joined TALKBASS moderators started censoring some of my posts , I the first post of mine TALKBASS censored was.2 paragraphs I made up in like 15 minutes off the top of my head about an evil ( New world order) banning music, all musical instruments will be confiscated , which one of your BASSES would you try to hide and keep. a TALK B ASS moderator took the post down , censored a FICTIONAL story. REALLY ? I mean reeallllyyy. why ? I mentioned NEW WORLD ORDER, and that could cause other bass players on TALK B ASS undue stress . LOL 1 comment I posted to someones post Judging Angus Young of ( AC/DC ) having horrible teeth when he was young I commented exactly what I thought. I quote " This is a site mainly FOR BASS PLAYERS and All things BASS, NOT for making your idiotic and disrespectful comment about ANGUS YOUNGS teeth when he was much younger. TALK B ASS MODERATOR censored my reply " saying" I was TROLLING " 😂 I didn't know passing Judgement on someone else's lack of teeth on A BASS SITE was perfectly fine with TALK B ASS moderators. Well it wasn't fine with me , So I replied what I thought about his post. my reply wasn't trolling , it was truth According to a moderator , I'm a bad person and must be silenced and banned from TALK B ASS. I guess the right to say and post anything is only for the judgemental and " the I'm better than U . Thankyou TALK B ASS for banning me. Mudpup Posted December 15 Share Posted December 15 I used to have a mooch on TB mainly becasue there was a decent Spector group on there and a few guys going on the same amp/bass journey as me. Loads of real hillbillies on there though and the recent facelift totally ruined it in my opinion. Its very clunky now and I can't be bottomed with it anymore. knirirr Posted December 15 Share Posted December 15 I've not been banned, but I was blackguarded by one of the big-shots as an incompetent and a racist for not liking a particular sub-genre ... which I had said I enjoyed listening to earlier in the thread. There was a lot of miscommunication in that discussion and the mods deleted a lot of it. They have changed the design making it harder navigate and so I visit less often now. It's US-based and most of its users are American. There is a decent number of non-US folk on there though, who sometimes have to remind the US-ians of strangely obvious things like how, elsewhere in the world, US Fenders are the foreign imports... little things like that don't occur to them! I'd strongly advise anyone from overseas to stay out of the TB Lounge section of the site if they're a paying member... some of the discussion in there gets ugly, is very US-centric, and some of them don't seem to like hearing from foriegners. 3 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I only frequent the Basses, Amps and Technique sections, and I haven't come close to being hassled, shouted at or banned. I've had chats with bassists from around the world. I think you’ll find the vast majority of Brits here on Basschat (as well as most of the rest of the world) are utterly appalled with the results of the recent election in the US. And, as a Brit currently living in the US, I’ll add my name to that list.
