LSS Posted Saturday at 15:56 Share Posted Saturday at 15:56 (edited) Hi, Are Andertons and Thomann the only places you can buy Sire's online in the UK? Specifically a P7 I am only back 'home' for a few days so cant go shop hunting (Colchester way) Buying in Portugal is not that good as far less choice and Ryanair charge 60 one way for a bass (or any 'musical instrument) Cheers Edited Saturday at 16:18 by LSS
Grahambythesea Posted Saturday at 21:21 Share Posted Saturday at 21:21 I don’t wish to deprive a U.K. retailer of a sale but don’t Thomman carry Sires? As you’re in Europe then there are no import problems between countries and I believe they will dispatch to Portugal .
cybertect Posted Saturday at 23:29 Share Posted Saturday at 23:29 (edited) I was sure GAK in Brighton used carry a limited range of Sire basses, but they seem to have stopped. Andertons have been showing most Sire P basses as out of stock for many months now, even when they have been getting new models in. I was wanting to try a natural finish P7 since early Spring but they never had any. They have one white P8 and a couple of P10s right now and I think that’s it for right hander basses. Thomann appeared to have fewer supply issues over the summer (or perhaps just larger stock in their warehouse) but that has changed a bit when I look now. Same with BAX in the Netherlands and musique-shop in France that I had been keeping an eye on. I’ve a suspicion that anything up to 14 weeks availability may be why the OP is looking here, in part at least. markbunney Posted Saturday at 23:53 Share Posted Saturday at 23:53 I was looking to order a V7 from Andertons and they said it would take 6 months as it would be made to order, and then sent to the UK on a very slow boat!
LSS
Thanks all Must be a good sign that everyone is out of stock I know I love mine, but I only started in February so know nowt. Yes, I have ordered from Thomann for delivery here to Portugal for my V3 but after waiting the 12 weeks (IIRC) it went back up to 4-5 Weeks at last minute, then again, so I cancelled and got it from Musiker who had it in stock. I have to say, I cant fault Thomann, they were great for my P7, which they had in stock, and loads of other stuff and even a returned P7 from UK (its a long story, nothing wrong with bass) But for the P5 it's out of stock on Thomman and Andertons (for very similar prices) This P5 is for keeping at mum's in UK when I come over to visit (she is on her own now, so its quite often), hence my query about UK dealers My dad was a mechanic, that's why I call them (main) dealers (colloquially known as 'main stealers'), not sure what they are called for music . Actually, my problem has been solved as I found a really nice white P5(R) second hand here in PT last night at a good price, worth the €60 on Ryanair to get it back to mum's house. Actually, I will do a search, but I was thinking, why cant I take the neck off and put it in a well padded suitcase? That is cheaper than a 'musical instrument' on flights and I bet there is no extra care taken Cheers
