la bam Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 As per title, what bass related prezzies do you all get? Quote
la bam Posted December 25, 2024 Author Posted December 25, 2024 I got a boss katana Bluetooth adaptor. Brilliant. Allows me to control the amp from the tablet or phone and store, create and call up any of the hundreds of sounds I've saved via the library. Quote
Lozz196 Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 I’ve a Japanese Fender Mustang bass on its way from Japan to Chez-Lozz. 2 Quote
Rosie C Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 A Zoom recorder, all the better to record my bass with and best of all, my sister bought me a "folk singers almanac" with songs for each month and for each festival in the year - this is bass related as I'll end up recording them with multi-tracked bass guitar. 4 Quote
ghostwheel Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 I bought myself a fretless Fender Std Jazz bass (an older one with a rosewood fingerboard). Even being quite a hater of JB in general and of lined fingerboards in particular, I must admit this one isn't bad. It takes some time to get used to dots on wrong places, but I enjoy playing her nevertheless. 1 Quote

kusee pee Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Lovely black Levy strap. And a book on Neoprog which is keeping me away from the kitchen for now... Quote
Happy Jack Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Korg MicroKorg 2 I know, I know, but it does really good bass sounds too ... 6 Quote
pnefc42 Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Not strictly bass related per se, but as it features some great bass playing, hopefully it qualifies 😀 6 Quote
Stub Mandrel Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Bass related... I got a luthier's neck support block and a 'soldier' leather strap. I gave two demonfx pedals (tape echo and mini chorus) and to my other brother one of those mini multi-effects/emulator pedals. Quote
Mudpup Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 I picked up one of these Markbass Gloxy 5 strings in black and maple. A super jazz with a P bass body. It's part of my retirement from the band plan to learn to play a 5 string (the 3rd attempt) 3 Quote
Norris Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 Norrisson the elder bought me a new Comfort Strapp. I bought him a new 5-string set of D'Addario Pro Steels 4 Quote
gafbass02 Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 Waiting on a rather unglamorous hip shot extender in black for my recent bass purchase 6 Quote
bassbiscuits Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 I bought my eldest lad a Squier Strat and a Blackstar practice amp for Christmas, but gave it to him a few days early for a local community gig we both did. I didn’t/don’t have any money at the moment to treat myself to anything very exciting after that! I think my biggest festive music-themed indulgence was blowing £5 on a bottle of alcohol free lager at a gig. Yikes. 11 Quote
Lozz196 Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 That’s a great present to give @bassbiscuits 1 Quote

Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 My presents gratefully received from myself included a copy of "The Bastard Instrument — A Cultural History Of The Electric Bass," A 2024 Jetglow Rickenbacker 4003, and various bits & bobs to go with it including a gigbag, padded leather strap and various cables etc to facilitate Rick-o-sound. 1 Quote
Lord Sausage Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 I bought a focusrite scarlett solo to do some recording on garageband and a lightning usb adapter. Turns out I need a powered usb hub too for it all to work. Sonive just ordered one of them. 1 Quote
