I got a boss katana Bluetooth adaptor. Brilliant. Allows me to control the amp from the tablet or phone and store, create and call up any of the hundreds of sounds I've saved via the library.

I’ve a Japanese Fender Mustang bass on its way from Japan to Chez-Lozz.

A Zoom recorder, all the better to record my bass with   and best of all, my sister bought me a "folk singers almanac" with songs for each month and for each festival in the year - this is bass related as I'll end up recording them with multi-tracked bass guitar.

I bought myself a fretless Fender Std Jazz bass (an older one with a rosewood fingerboard). Even being quite a hater of JB in general and of lined fingerboards in particular, I must admit this one isn't bad. It takes some time to get used to dots on wrong places, but I enjoy playing her nevertheless.

Bass related... I got a luthier's neck support block and a 'soldier' leather strap.

 

I gave two demonfx pedals (tape echo and mini chorus) and to my other brother one of those mini multi-effects/emulator pedals.

I picked up one of these Markbass Gloxy 5 strings in black and maple. A super jazz with a P bass body. It's part of my retirement from the band plan to learn to play a 5 string (the 3rd attempt)

I bought my eldest lad a Squier Strat and a Blackstar practice amp for Christmas, but gave it to him a few days early for a local community gig we both did. 
 

I didn’t/don’t have any money at the moment to treat myself to anything very exciting after that!

 

I think my biggest festive music-themed indulgence was blowing £5 on a bottle of alcohol free lager at a gig. Yikes.

My presents gratefully received from myself included a copy of "The Bastard Instrument — A Cultural History Of The Electric Bass," A 2024 Jetglow Rickenbacker 4003, and various bits & bobs to go with it including a gigbag, padded leather strap and various cables etc to facilitate Rick-o-sound.

I bought a focusrite scarlett solo to do some recording on garageband and a lightning usb adapter.

 

Turns out I need a powered usb hub too for it all to work. Sonive just ordered one of them.
