Waiting on a rather unglamorous hip shot extender in black for my recent bass purchase

I received the same as last year, sweet FA, bass related. My only gift was from my daughter, a coffee mug. I should point out that by mutual consent, Lady Ez and I stopped giving each other Christmas pressies years ago - don’t feel sorry for me. As I will not be signing up for the 2025 abstinence challenge (this year has been hard enough), I may buy myself a birthday pressie in a few weeks’ time.

If I had my way, the rules would be that adults get each other one “something the other person likes” thing and then you would just enjoy the rest of the day as chill-time. Few more for the kids naturally

I didn`t have a decent di pre amp after selling a few this year so bought another Digbeth pre. Oh and a Fender Player 2 P bass in white. The P is a bit naughty tbh as it`s the last thing I need but hey ho!

Those little Digbeth preamps are a brilliant bit of kit!

Not all strictly bass-related.

Not the Kevin Rowland of Dexy's Midnight Runners, surely?  :scratch_one-s_head:

Back to the OP - for me; nothing unless you count a vintage Technics turntable so I can now once again listen to much bass goodness on my old vinyl, plus a bottle of single malt to enhance the experience.......John Rebus style.

Ex Mrs Staggering On (we're good friends) treated me to a new pot of Pop's rosin, I've been complaining about the dried out stuff I was using and she was listening and remembered! I am a lucky guy and now I have some fresh rosin to start the new year, it may even improve my playing...or not.🙄

A USB-C to 3.5mm adapter so I can play my phone through the aux in of my multi effects.  All phones should have 3.5mm outputs.

Amen!

Snapped up a Martin short scale acoustic bass on Xmas day evening! Been keeping an eye on for a while - once the price dropped by £150 it went straight in the basket! Coming on Monday hopefully.....🤘🤞

And it didn't quite make it in time for Christmas, but there's a Spectracomp on its way to me also...

We gave my daughter a new Fender Jazz MIM Player series. I gave myself a used MIM Precision standard. The precision looks beautiful but needs some setting up. The Jazz looks and plays beautifully. Both came with white pick guards but black is more betterer

I saw on instagram that Scott Devine’s daughter received her first bass for Christmas, a Bronco. Glad to see that he is starting her on something basic. Also, the state of her very red, right hand, index finger, is testament to her in at the deep end, going for it mentality, she had to play something for the camera using her middle finger only - kudos, young lady, kudos.

Good call, mine is amazingly useful. If you’re playing acoustically with someone or  for someone you need to snap at the strings a bit harder to get the volume needed

Can she hold down the low end?

She'll be doing smug face jazz noodling in a beanie hat with a ridiculous ott relic'd brand new bass in no time.

Being serious for a moment. I hope she has fun with it
