She'll be doing smug face jazz noodling in a beanie hat with a ridiculous ott relic'd brand new bass in no time. I kind of get the feeling that Scott might let her find her own way, he certainly didn’t stop her overdoing it on day one. Quote
MichaelDean Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 I've got a couple of pedal kits from Fuzz Dog! It's been a long time since I attempted a pedal, so this will be interesting. Going to try the Acapulco Gold clone tonight. The Monolith will take a bit longer - there are loads more components. 5 Quote
Geek99 Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 @mikebass456 example I use it at om nights to demo a tune I’ve learned and I don’t need to cart an amp there and it’s not loud enough to disturb whoever is performing 1 Quote

Scott has never been one for overdoing it. He'd never jam in 25 notes where one would be better Quote
AlexDelores Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 The better half got me this Squier VM Jaguar. It’s actually one I used to own then sold on a couple of years ago to a mate. He wanted rid and I always said I’d have it back if he let it go. 8 Quote
meterman Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 A pal bought me an original vinyl copy of the "It Hurts So Good" album by Millie Jackson. Don't know who's playing bass on it but they're flipping excellent. Just checked and it some of it was recorded at Muscle Shoals, 1973. Decent year for funk, that 👍 3 Quote

The precision looks beautiful but needs some setting up. The Jazz looks and plays beautifully. Both came with white pick guards but black is more betterer Fear not. Black is just a gateway to tort, you'll get there in the end. 1 1 Quote

Of all the basses I've encountered probably the most bass for the money, even including Harley Bentons. A future classic. Quote

Richard R Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Nothing bass-related, not even an Amazon voucher that could be put to musical use. But a lot of books, which is always a good thing. 1 Quote

oakforest5961 Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 (edited) At the risk of opening a can of worms about curly cables, I got this. (To be honest, it was at my request; I didn't need a new cable, but I've wanted a curly one for a long time.) It will only get home use, as that is the only place I play. Each to one's own, but I absolutely love it! https://www.designacable.com/van-damme-curly-guitar-cable-neutrik-instrument-lead-studio-grade-70cm-25m.html Edited December 28, 2024 by oakforest5961 6 Quote
LowB_FTW Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 I got me some Rotosound Tru Bass strings for my Washburn AB-35, which I'll fit the next time I'm going to use it. Mark 1 Quote
uk_lefty Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Ummm I got myself this... CIJ 75 Jazz reissue. I've not had time to properly play it since I put La Bella flats on it. I really have fallen victim to BC. I now have one jazz with rounds, one jazz with flats, one fretless jazz... 2 Quote

I stayed off BC for a long time and gigged with 1 bass for about 5 years. Since getting back on BC about a year ago, I’ve bought 3 basses 🤦♂️🤣 Still, the occasional puns and bad humour make it worth it, to me at least. My wife might say otherwise 🫠 1 1 Quote
