Cat Burrito Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Not “bass” related as such but as we’re writing a new album for 2025 and I have been in a bit of a writing slump, I picked up this 2015 Gretsch Electromatic G5420T. It’s the first time I have bought myself an Xmas gift in a while but it already seems to be unlocking a bit of my writers block. 17 Quote
paddy109 Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 A little boring maybe but I purchased a new power supply for my pedal board. I installed this to the bottom of the board and hid all the cables - proud of my work. I got to my gig last night realising I left my pedal board at home! 🙄 1 1 Quote
BassTractor Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 (edited) Echoing @Happy Jack: "I know, I know, but it does really good bass sounds too ..." (for the unitiated: it's two Behringer 2600s, the tiny and cheap ARP 2600 clone, each spawning three oscillators and most of what you need to make a bass monstah). Happy Jack Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 That's WAY outside my comfort zone ... Quote

BigRedX Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 Nothing. I did put 100 Herco Flex 75 picks on my Amazon wish list, but no-one bought them for me. Everything else musical that I want is far too expensive to expect anyone to buy for me. Quote

Not that bad, I find, once one gets one's head around certain aspects, which admittedly does take more time than say working with a Minimoog. Of course the lack of patch storage easily becomes a drawback. Quote
neepheid Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 Not strictly speaking bass related in and of themselves, but they will be put to bass related work. Getting my last purchases in before next years tilt at the whole abstinence thing: Bluetooth transmitter/receiver to cut the cord between the laptop/phone and the amp's aux in. USB OTG cable, so I can do deep Toneprint stuff (editing parameters etc.) with my phone rather than having to use the laptop. 1 Quote
MrDinsdale Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 Managed to squeeze one last purchase of a DG Element before the end of the year. Now I can fool myself into thinking I have a chance of gear acquisition abstinence for 2025. Quote

Bassman68 Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 After a lot of justifying to myself, I’ve bit the bullet & ordered an Enki case… Might only need it half a dozen times next year, when I’m not transplanting my own gear but it’ll cut down on the number of items being loaded onto the truck & I won’t need to pack stands as well. I'll be honest, I had to Google enki cases! They look absolutely bulletproof - I plumped for a Mono twin bass gig bag about 10years ago, and it's been superb! It's out regularly and stands up to gig van treatment perfectly! 😎🤘 Quote
beely Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 Bass-related I suppose....... A QSC KS112 sub for my PA. Perfectly matched to the QSC 10.2 tops we use. Didn't notice too much difference tbh, possibly because I was simply trying to get through the gig so I could go back to my sick bed. 🙄 Amazing how difficult it can be to sing and cough at the same time. 1 Quote
AndyTravis Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 My present off mum and dad and my in-laws arrived today…(well they gave me £30 apiece in my cards) Grover 142c tuners for my Red Casady. Just letting them warm up before I get a screwdriver in my hand… 1 Quote
