If your "tech" had done this instead of the try and error way, there wouldn't have been any problem. To me, he's no tech at all, but pretends to be one. 1 Quote

I'm sure he told me he had reversed the wiring at one point, just to try and see if that fixed it - which it didn't. And this, especially the last sentence is just proving he is no tech at all, but a guy with a soldering iron without any electronic background and doing some soldering randomly: amazing! 🤦🏻 1 Quote

The tech tried around 3 different barrel jacks, only the last of which has the 4 lugs which is what is currently installed. So he wires things in different ways until one works? 🤔 Seriously, don't go back to that guy for any wiring issue. 🙈 2 Quote

If he reversed the wiring on the 4-lug socket, it would have made no difference, because the socket body (chassis lug) is connected to the sleeve (longest lug). Quote

ReeV0 Posted January 14 Author Posted January 14 What you're saying makes sense to me! I will not be going back there 🤦♂️ Quote
bremen Posted Friday at 11:30 Posted Friday at 11:30 Don't give up on your tech. If his guitar-mending work dries up, there's every chance he'll retrain as a car mechanic... Quote
