AndyTravis Posted Saturday at 15:53 Posted Saturday at 15:53 I’m still in…for now…I’ve just borrowed this from the guitarist with the idea I might buy it. no cash has changed hands yet. YET. Quote
neepheid Posted Saturday at 16:01 Posted Saturday at 16:01 This borrowing gear business is playing with fire! And I thought a casual trip to the guitar shop was dangerous... 2 Quote

MrDinsdale Posted Sunday at 16:29 Posted Sunday at 16:29 Ahh man I was totally focused on bass purchases and forgot Im halfway through a guitar build and still have hardware to buy. Does that count or should I gracefully bow out in week 3? Quote
Richard R Posted Sunday at 17:38 Author Posted Sunday at 17:38 Guitars are other musical instruments, so you'll be out of tier 2, but still in for the primary tier 1 challenge. Is there a build thread for the guitar? (hint, hint) 1 Quote

Shockwave Posted Monday at 19:12 Posted Monday at 19:12 I have failed on Tier 2 I am afraid. New Project and required a 7 String guitar to play Nevermore songs. Managed to snag this second hand old school Schecter Jeff Loomis Sig. As well as a 10-52 string set and .70 single string to tune down to B Flat. https://www.pmtonline.co.uk/pre-owned-schecter-loomis-7-fr-trans-red-055384 To be fair, its a pretty good price despite the ding in the finish. These are getting harder to come by... Though the new Jeff Sig model is also very very tempting... However I am still in for tier 1! 2 Quote

neepheid Posted Monday at 21:16 Posted Monday at 21:16 Heh, had a bunch of D'addario strings to register and turns out I had nearly 5000 points. Wanted a couple of straps (I like each bass to have a strap, I CBA swapping straps around). So I used my points to get em for "free". All within the rules and above board (being both an allowed accessory and use of music vendor loyalty points), but a nice little frisson of officially sanctioned "stuff coming through the letterbox" activity nonetheless. 2 Quote
msb Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago I honestly think I can do the year without buying anything. And will probably sell several amps and maybe some basses. However I do have a sock with some cash in it in case some musical emergency pops up … but I really don’t need anything more. I’m still watching kijiji and have been known to alert friends when something interesting pops up. Yesterday an Epiphone Zenith appeared with a good price. Very short run and a very interesting bass. Immediately alerted two friends. Had it been a short scale I might have been tempted. Quote

Interesting... That stuff I bought earlier this month was all guitar related, so perhaps I got away with it. Makes it harder to stop browsing all those jazz archtop listings, though. Quote
fretmeister Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Question! I am in the process of assembling a parts bass for which all the parts were purchased last year. However... I forgot to buy a string tree wotsit for the headstock. If I buy one (for about £4) would that be a breach? I notice the grey area bit on Page 1 about parts for bitsas. Quote
