neepheid Posted Monday at 18:55 Posted Monday at 18:55 I've already begun to try to be "under par" for the year - got a taker for a spare cab I'm giving away and have a preamp pedal up for sale. 2 Quote

If only it worked that way, I'd sold a bass before Id bought a wireless system Quote

PA, lights and a couple of amps will be finding their way onto the marketplace shortly. I'm not packing in gigging - it's just that the gear isn't getting the use I hoped it might and I can think of better uses for the money I'm spending on storage costs. Quote
msb Posted Tuesday at 13:36 Posted Tuesday at 13:36 I like to try and check out what was creating a buzz at NAMM every year. This time it was the new GK RB Legacy amps. Didn’t see much in the way of basses that interested me , perhaps the Dano Longhorns in new colours with the “f” holes. I think I can be marked “safe” this year. … some years ago Fender introduced a Japanese 51 reissue , and when it appeared on the Fender site on the first day of name I was at my favourite music store when they opened. Nose pressed up against the glass. As we’re on Atlantic time I was probably the first order in North America. Quote
ezbass Posted Tuesday at 14:56 Posted Tuesday at 14:56 Here’s an interesting conundrum. I would like a better gigbag for my Epiphone Casino Coupé and have seen the one that Guitar Guitar recommend for that size of guitar. This would be (another) tier 2 fail, as it’s for a guitar. However, it seems that the bag is big enough to be used for a Mustang, as it is pictured with a Jazzmaster in it (Mustangs seem to fit JM sized cases). Would this escalate it to a full on fail, or keep it in tier 2? Quote
wavemaker Posted Tuesday at 17:08 Posted Tuesday at 17:08 (edited) I’d say "not in the chain / grey area", and let you off the hook. Edited Tuesday at 17:17 by wavemaker Quote
Richard R Posted Tuesday at 19:34 Author Posted Tuesday at 19:34 I agree, a gig bag to protect a guitar is at worst a tier 2 failure, and arguably not even that. Quote
neepheid Posted Wednesday at 09:38 Posted Wednesday at 09:38 Damn, that purple Kramer D1 in the marketplace is testing me. It's damn fine, isn't it? Come on, I made it to May last year, I'm here to progress, not regress. Nope, I must stay strong. My withdrawl symptoms relief bass is slated to arrive in the next few weeks (ordered and paid for in September 2024, before you ask). There will be other sparkly basses in 2026... because if you think I'm tolerating this nonsense for two years in a row, you're sorely mistaken! 4 Quote

A guitar gig bag can also be used as a bass gig bag, so you saved your bass-budget, _and_ you are taking your bass to a gig. Spending less and playing more. 1 Quote

Richard R Posted Wednesday at 18:58 Author Posted Wednesday at 18:58 I've signed up for an electronics learning project on how to build a bare-bones Raspberry Pi device without an operating system. Turns out the project is to build one of these: The Pi, breadboard and screen are generic, but I'll have to get hold of a midi keyboard, or at the very least a DIN-USB MIDI connector. I'll declare a T2 fail when I know what I've bought. Quote
AndyTravis Posted Wednesday at 19:28 Posted Wednesday at 19:28 I bought 2 Hercules stands… It’s to replace some knackered old ones. thats ok? 2 Quote

JottoSW1 Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Abstaining for 2025 is easily accomplished, am utterly broke. Picked up my last acquisition a week before Xmas, a Trace Elliot 4 x 8. Therefore I'm in at present.. 1 1 Quote
