Great guitar, I've gigged it but in the 13 piece Hulla band there's not a lot of room for the extended range. String spacing is tight (as you'd expect) and I found swapping between four and six in a gig a little challenging. I guess you've read through the dedicated thread - some good string recommendations there. But as this is the Abstinence thread - don't do it. Just say no. Four strings is more than enough. 😀 2 Quote

grapefruitmoon Posted January 31 Posted January 31 As expected, a tier 2 fail for me as I've just bought some PA speakers. Also currently pondering a new short scale bass due to my ongoing arm/bicep pain, but I don't have the funds so it's not happening even if I wanted to! Quote
msb Posted January 31 Posted January 31 (edited) Was looking at a Turner Model 1 on TB. Absolutely gorgeous looking thing. Well beyond my budget. Importing from the US is expensive these days , and getting worse by the day. Alerted a friend in the US that might pick it up. I hope he does. edit I’ve been pretty successful at spending other people’s money. When I see a good deal on kijiji I’ll often alert somebody I think might be interested. An Epi Zenith bass recently popped up. Every once in a While something interesting , and unusual pops up. Edited January 31 by msb Quote

Richard R Posted January 31 Author Posted January 31 I had a significant tax refund this month as HMRC had given me the wrong tax code for 10 months. 😀 My much better half says I am emphatically not allowed to spend it on the Ovation Magnum 1 I was drooling over earlier. 😭 1 Quote

King Tut Posted February 1 Posted February 1 My GK MB500 started cracking at a gig on Tuesday so I swapped to my spare amp. I’ve got another spare amp but it won’t fit into my gig case with my first spare amp so looking at a nano mark 300. Or maybe a bigger case. Can’t recreate the fault on the GK. Decisions decisions, either way it looks like I’ll soon be out!! Quote
