Yeah that’d be good. Don’t see too many about though. Unless you’re selling one?

Sorry, I'd love to be in a position to help you out, but I do not possess such a device.

If they're difficult to source then you could argue for buying something that's as similar as possible (same power rating, similar dimensions, similar way of working (solid state/valve etc)) and see what we think?  I mean we're obviously going to call shenanigans if you replace your broken MB500 with some 2000W behemoth.  But we're fair - try us!

One down, eleven to go. No problem, nothing to it 😬

I think this is the best I've ever done, certainly better than the year I failed roughly ten minutes after stating I was in. 😂

If you can find a qualified repair person they would easily find and fix the issue. The fan on my MB200 was gunked up , things overheated and it required some surgery. I decided I liked the amp enough to get it fixed. Works like a new amp today. The repair cost was much better than the replacement price.
The catch is finding a qualified repair person…

There is one here: https://polar.uk.com/b-stock-gallien-krueger-mb-500-lightweight-bass-head-302-0511-bstock

But is it just crackling due to the jack and/or pots needing a clean?

Just traced the fault to a loose screw in the speaker lead speakon plug. Just threadlocking all my speaker plugs at the mo as a preventative measure - cheers for the heads up though!

I think I’m currently in a reasonably healthy GAS position with pedals right now. Every time I start thinking about needing another preamp or drive I reach for one off the shelf and give it a dust off. Just mixing it up occasionally is enough to quell temptation. Having the QC hooked up again helps too.

Just need 2-3 drive pedals and a couple of preamps to switch between when I get complacentt keep things exciting. Dunno what to do about urges for new bridges and pickups though 🫠

GAS is strongest when you don't have a musical project on the go!!!

Absolutely true! I'm trying to organise anything occasional jam session with friends so I have things to practice rather than spending time on here on money of gear. 😉

Now stop buying stuff @AndyTravis or I’ll tell everyone here my secret name for you you know the one

You're gonna get very creative inventing one every time he buys something.

I’ve slowed down…more stuff is staying…which Mrs T is getting a bit fed up with.

i have been allocated a space when Iris’ works are completed “it’ll be just your room”

I have spotted the winch hanging out of that room’s window, you know

you’ll have to try harder than that @AndyTravis

Not a “pitty party” between Christmas & new years I had to move a lot of bass equipment sadly, due to the financial strain and illness. So I may be out shortly unfortunately as I have to get some sort of DI/Pre Amp to get gigging again properly.
