danbowskill Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 (edited) I've heard good things about these late 70's early 80's Japanese lawsuits. I've had a tokai hardpuncher from the 80's that was fab, and i assume they are both from the same factory? Anyone had any experience with one they can share? Ones popped up that's peaked my interest. Ash body maple neck No personal experience but yes, Fernandes Fender types from the late 70s/early 80s were probably made by Tokai Gakki in Hamamatsu. Fwiw these aren't 'lawsuit' instruments - that's a term only really applicable (and even then, there's some debate) to Ibanez-branded Gibson copies which pre-date the 1976 headstock redesign. 2 Quote

Ash body maple neck I was a frequent t visitor to Japan at the time and these were well regarded guitars. Never played one though. Quote
