dmccombe7 Posted January 4 Posted January 4 Finally made the call tonight and left the Punk covers band Emergency Exit after 3 fantastic yrs of great fun and really enjoying the songs. We had taken a break to see how things developed but absolutely no change. A complete lack of interest with no enthusiasm or excitement within the band over past 4+mths. Decided i'd had enough hanging around hoping things would change and just called it a day. There are no ill-feelings within the band in any way. Its just ran its course ........ for me anyways. Time to move on and find something else to fill the gaps between Glam gigs. Still waiting to see what's happening with the new project of 80's classic rock which we put on hold until after the festive period. I'm gonna miss the raw power of those punk songs tho. Jackroadkill Posted January 4 Posted January 4 Glad to hear you've made a positive move, Dave. That's the way things go, sometimes, and it sounds as if you've been ready to make the jump for a while. Best of luck in your future endeavours. Quote
Lozz196 Posted January 5 Posted January 5 That’s a shame Dave, but great there’s still the glam band to keep you in the gigging world. 1 Quote
casapete Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Sorry to hear this Dave but you may find the gaps are actually good for you, time to reassess whether you want to fill them with another band or not. Whatever, hope you find a gigging schedule that suits, all the best. 1 Quote

I'm a model railway fan and started one couple of yrs ago in a large garden building that was specifically built for it and i never seem to have enough time to work on it and its mainly because i'm always learning songs or practicing songs for my weekend gigs or rehearsals. If you gig often with a band you don't need to practice the songs. With the punk band gigs had dropped off to every 2-4mths. Dave 1 Quote

Dave Sounds good Dave, just try it for a while and it will be evident which way is forward for you. Regarding rehearsals, you’re right about frequency. In my old theatre band we rehearsed once a year, when we selected new songs and perhaps changed one or two arrangements to make them work better. For me, having to rehearse often would drain the fun out of gigging - maybe that’s why our duo is still going strong after over 30 years without one rehearsal? 😂 1 Quote
