How does he get this tone. ?

Any ideas. ?  Looks like an old Jazz Bass but it has something else.. can't quite describe it.

Low action mostly. Sounded like it could have been a stack knob to my ears as there was more tone on the bottom end than the top.

To me sounds like a jazz with roundwounds, both pickups on, low action, heavy plucking, tone all the way up on the bass and then the treble all the way down on the amp, low mids boosted and a little natural overdrive.

I would say simply dead strings coupled to a heavy attack with the bridge pickup full on and a tad bit of neck pickup, tone full on, through the all flat KRK speakers, recorded with a phone.

Nice bit of playing, just sounds like a standard jazz to me with both pickups on full with the tone rolled back a little, and roundwound strings playing close to the bridge
