This may be a daft question…..please be gentile!

I’m in the market for a backup amp, and got curious about the pedals which change tone, and DI out. Rather than an amp, I’m looking at investing in a pedal.

Question is, is that the best use on these? I gig with a Markbass head and 2x10 cab. I’m wondering why…..the MB sound is what it is, and it ain’t ever going to be an Ampeg 8x10! Is there any point in such pedals going through a trad amp/cab, or better suited to a DI and monitor situation?

I did pose in the PA section about the 64 Pedal……if I did want to dump the amp/cab, what would be the best (keep the cost down) monitor? I love the idea of these things that would give the sound I’ve dreamed of, but in such a small package. 😎

The BassRig pedals can be used through a normal amp: the 1/4” dispenses with the cabinet simulation and has some adjustable parameters so that you can compensate for the amp you’re using. I have no hands-on experience yet as I’m yet to receive the 64 I bought.
